About the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78)
The Gerald R. Ford-class is a new generation of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers under construction for the United States Navy, aiming to replace existing carriers with ten new ships. These vessels will begin with the lead ship, Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), which replaces the Enterprise (CVN-65), and will continue with replacing Nimitz-class carriers.
