NCR-22 History

Naval Construction Regiment (NCR) 22, established in 1944, played a critical role in WWII, constructing vital infrastructure in the Pacific. Reactivated in 1992, it has since provided pivotal support in various operations, including disaster relief following Hurricane Andrew and during Hurricane Katrina, where it undertook the largest peacetime Seabee deployment in the U.S. NCR-22 has been instrumental in military and humanitarian missions across the globe, including deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Honduras, Albania, Afghanistan, and Iraq, focusing on infrastructure building, emergency relief, and combat support. Transitioning into Naval Construction Group 2 (NCG 2) in May 2013, it continues to ensure readiness and support for military operations and disaster preparedness. In 2017, NCR-22 played a key role in Exercise African Lion in Morocco, emphasizing its ongoing commitment to global collaboration and operational excellence.
